Volunteering

E-mail a Volunteer Application

Volunteer opportunities abound at Lutheran Care and can be as varied as your time will allow: an hour or two a month or as frequently as you like.  The result is that you will have made a positive difference in the lives of our residents in so many ways:

  • Assist with Recreation Therapy programs: help transport residents in wheelchairs to social and entertainment programs (and share in the fun).
  • Assist on resident outings (luncheons, shopping trips, special events).
  • Serve on a Committee or our Boards of Directors.
  • Be a friendly visitor to a resident: share a hobby, a craft, write letters, read a book.
  • Help to beautify our campus by sharing your gardening skills.
  • Have a church team of 2 to 4 volunteers assist with bingo games.  Home baked cookies provided by your team are always greatly appreciated.
  • Assist in transporting residents (push wheelchairs) to physical therapy during the week and offer encouragement to residents in rehabilitation.
  • Assist by driving the facility's vehicles during outings.
  • Be a clerk in our Corner Store (gift shop). Shifts are Mondays through Fridays from 11 – 1 P.M. or 1 - 3 P.M. Substitutes are also needed for the store as are knitted, crocheted and other handmade items to be offered for sale.
  • Be an office assistant in different departments throughout the facility.
  • A variety of youth volunteer opportunities are available, as well.

Won't you share your talent and time with these special people?  For details on available volunteer positions, contact Rebecca Misencik, Director of Volunteer Services, at 315.235.7126 or apply online now.
