About Us
A Strong History of Quality Care
On February 19, 1919 the dream of a local woman who wished to offer care and support to the elderly in her community became a reality when the Lutheran Home for the Aged and Infirm was organized. The original Victorian farmhouse consisted of 13 rooms with accommodations for 10 individuals. In November of 1932, construction of a wing on the original house provided 14 additional bedrooms and an infirmary for the 23 residing there.
Today, LutheranCare has grown into a multi-faceted organization providing comprehensive programs and services to those in need of compassionate care. These services include but are not limited to:
- Full-featured residence for older adults
- Skilled nursing facility for comprehensive medical care
- Special, secure care unit for persons living with Alzheimer's and other dementias
- Social model adult day services
- Full-time Chaplain, on-campus chapels and an abiding respect for all faiths
- Dedicated Short-term Rehabilitation unit staffed by skilled professionals providing quality rehabilitation services
